Hi! I am Christine Ballentine, RN, and the Proprietor of Barn Bird Soaps
Barn Bird Soaps is a Woman-Owned, Limited Liability Company based in Rochester, NH. As a Registered Nurse I bring over 41 years of experience, practicality, quality and care to all my products. I love crafting artisan soap and the healthy benefits which result from using all natural ingredients. My goal is to raise everyday hygiene, from a mere commercial science, to a more wholesome art of cleanliness.

Clays such as Rose Clay, French Green Clay and Cambrian Blue Clay have the AMAZING ability to help rid your skin of toxins that we are exposed to everyday. They help to draw out dirt and oils from your skin. Rose Clay has been said to reduce fine lines and even skin tones with regular use. Natural oils used in making soap are high in vitamins, fatty acids and antioxidants. Antioxidants are substances that can prevent or slow damage to the cell caused by free radicals which are produced by the body as a reaction to environmental factors and other pressures of daily life.

Your skin is the largest organ of your body. As people are striving to eat better and improve their overall health from within, it is just as important to be mindful of what we use on the outside too. Your skin is your first line of defense from enviromental factors such as dirt, smoke and other pollutants, as well as an individual's circumstances like stress or an injury. Just like junk food - it is staggering to see the amount of chemicals, additives and artificial ingredients used in making commercial soaps today. Surely if we don't want the additives and artificial ingredients IN our bodies, why would we ever want to put them ON our bodies? All my soaps are made in small batches - using all natural ingredients, to ensure purity, quality, and essential health benefits. I am ever SO grateful to my family and friends (who have never been cleaner by the way) for both trying my soaps as well as giving me their honest feedback and suggestions. Thanks Guys!! My aim is to provide soaps with sound, beneficial properties by using a variety of oils, pure butters, essential oils and other wholesome natural ingredients. Lots of smooth rich lather and bubbles too!! ***I only use ethically sourced palm oil***

What makes soap smell so Good!

Essential oils, scents, and natural additives give soap that lovely fragrance. Oils like Lavender and Chamomile are said to help you reduce stress and help to relax you. Others like Lime and Cherry Almond can be very uplifting! One of my husband's personal favorites is the Wintergreen. What we can sense for smell can play a big role in how we feel. You may need a different soap for different days! I use a variety of essential oils, natural scents and different combinations. Some are very light in fragrance and others more bold. For those of you who want all the benefits from using natural soap but would rather not have the scent I have unscented. If you would like a particular type of bar unscented I am happy to do that. ***ALL MY SOAPS ARE MADE IN SMALL BATCHES SO THERE MAY BE A SLIGHT VARIATION IN THE COLOR.
