White Mountain Chaga Tea Soap
It is with great pleasure that I am introducing my newest addition to Barn Bird Soaps, “White Mountain Chaga Tea Soap.” Chaga is a unique member of the mushroom family which only grows at high elevations on birch and occasionally poplar trees. It takes at least 5 years to mature before it can be harvested. In the wild it has the appearance of burnt charcoal. Chaga quite literally pulls and concentrates the nutrients of the tree into itself. My husband and I own property in the White Mountains in Jackson NH. It has been in the family for over a century. We harvest the Chaga from our birch trees, and then chop it into pieces small enough to fit a coffee grinder. After grinding it into a fine powder, the chaga is made into tea, which is then used as a key ingredient in my White Mountain Chaga Tea Soap. Chaga has an amazing number of health benefits and is widely known among natural minded and other health conscious consumers. It is used as an ingredient in foods as well as in topical applications in the health industry. Chaga has the highest level of antioxidants in any single substance per unit size on earth. In addition, Chaga is packed with riboflavin, betulinic acid, melatonin, and Kojic acid. These properties are known to decrease inflammation, promote wound healing, provide UV protection, skin regeneration, nourishment, and hydration. Chaga’s effectiveness for skin health lies in its ability to strengthen resiliency to damaging irritants (free radicals) found in nature, as well as reducing skin sensitivity. I sincerely hope that you will agree with me that this is certainly a unique skin care product. It is my pleasure to offer it as a part of Barn Bird Soaps’ repertoire, Christine
